Big News Today

Big news Today.

My Flash designer is doing the site.  Sweet. Soon I'll be able to show you all the template and by soon I mean a month, maybe 2.

If you r lucky then you'll get a sneek peek

Still having the same old tired issues with blogspot though.

When i send my people invites, the password is getting rejected.

I'm about to move out of the apartment , and take my blog somewhere else if you know what I mean.

Blogspot. Do you have a 1800 number?

As well, on another more uplifting note,

I received shipment from www.firemountaingems.com.  I am happy to report that it is on time, in it's entirety, and ready to be made into a beautiful turquoise necklace.

i'm On Google Maps. Yippe

Ok so today I published my biz on Google Maps. Sounds simple enough rite.  Time spent out of my day: 10 minutes.

To accomplish this, I just searched List My business on Google, and then filled in all of the information on Google maps.

Results: Awaiting

Other action steps I took today were to follow up with my Flash Designer.  I am so excited. The template I picked out is gorgeous.

I'm still having trouble with this blogspot site though.  I have tried to add followers to my site, and they keep getting tangled up somewhere in the superweb, and not ending up on my page, so today I resolve to write blogspot about this. I can't very well have a jewelry empire without any followers, can I?

Unacceptable, blogspot, tsk tsk tsk.

A Day in the Life of a Jewelry Entrepreneur

This is a brutally honest upfront look at starting a jewelry business.  If you are thinking about starting a business, I hope to help you out through my Experiences and www.blogspot.com

Today's Goals

1) Get started with making my website killa user friendly, business friendly and ready to serve you.

2) Create some orders.

It is important you realize that when starting an online business, you are going to become technologically savvy.  Be confident about this decision.  You don't have to be an online whiz to build a website.  Keep that in mind and don't forget it.

The most important aspects of building a website are having a vision, having a plan to execute your vision, and marketing your vision to the public.

My vision is an online international jewelry business, and of course I was going to need help with this vision which brings me to a super important point that you cannot ignore:  OPEN YOURSELF UP TO THE OPPORTUNITIES AT YOUR FINGERTIPS.

If you are one of those people that think everyone is out to screw you, lose that mentality, NOW

Tell people about your vision, in my case an online jewelry business show people that you are serious, and good things will come

This happened to me through my acupuncturist, who I told about my dream, Dr. Robert Hearst who works in Delray Beach and Ft. Lauderdale.  He offered to help me build my site through his knowledge and linked me up with a friend of his that builds amazing sites. He showed me a great site to use for hosting a website like www.godaddy.com, which i am now showing you. See how this works!

Also. Remember, pick a template that SCREAMS SUCCESS. Make it simple, not too cluttered and valuable to the essence of your business. The site we chose today came from www.templatemonster.com

People everywhere around you are dream makers, people who are willing and excited to help you with your passion. Surround yourself with people who support your passion give you a goood input that makes you feel more motivated to succeed and good things will happen.

Now of course, here's some more advice, remember that soley you are responsible for your businesses' success and give yourself the credit you deserve in starting it. Here's where I credit myself for having the courage to go ahead with this idea and all my hard work.

I started out with an idea, as you can see on my site came from a girlfriend at the time, and a friend, Maria who reads tarot cards.  Don't ignore SOME of your wild ideas. They are the unlockings to your inner passions.

The next day I got started making jewelry and made a pair of earring to thank my friend.

I made a 50 page business plan, checked out suppliers and  purchase SBI which i researched and am finding is an excellent program for people like me who didn't know much about technology and wanted to make an online website.

Also TALK TALK TALK about your business.  Put it out there. Get business cards made.
Since you don't know where your opportunity will come from, be prepared to have your pitch down to a science.  Keep it Simple Stupid.  It works.

If you don't know where to start networking your business, look at the people around you, your family, friends, coworkers, anyone you know can be an opportunity.

So part of goal one today is accomplished. I started a blog.
Step two is setting up my business though gmail in the internet yellow pages.  That should be more difficult. I will let you know how it went.

Remember. Take it step by step. Starting a new business can be overwhelming. Just remember to keep your mind on the big picture. It will carry you though.

On that note, I'm off to design a leather silver bullet necklace that my coworker ordered from me!

Remember that you never know when you will create an order, so constantly design and keep in mind that you are designing for a person and each person is unique. Also keep in mind, YOU HAVE A PERSONAL STYLE.  YOU WILL SUCCEED IF YOU PUT THIS STYLE INTO YOUR DESIGNS.   You will not run out of ideas!!

Happy Designing!
