MY SITE

Wow! I havent written in awhile here.  I have to say I have been getting a great response to telling everyone I am starting my own website and selling jewelry.  Most everyone I tell is interested or wants to help me out or wants to check out the site, well the site is ready!!!

It looks great.  OF course I want to add some more pieces to it and make it stronger but that's my nature lol.

I have still been selling things and I wonder if when I publish my site people are going to actually see it, and if they don't see it how I am going to put it out there so my site gets some notice out there

Website Update and One Difficult Customer

Today Laura started working on my website.  This is great because soon I will have a site where I can showcase all of my pieces online.  The major concern I have about this is that I can upload pictures of my jewelry to the site myself, as I am constantly getting different ideas and directions and will eventually have a set collection on the site of my best pieces only.

Right now I have about 25 pieces, and am learning wire wrapping techniques and German knotting :)

Also, beware of difficult customers.  You will know a difficult customer because they will be unnecessarily demanding, and won't listen to a word you say,  the best approach to a difficult customer is to make sure you go above and beyond to exceed their expectations.

This woman at work is my first difficult customer.  I designed a necklace for her, and had to change the design because of the durability of the materials. Plain English, i didn't want to take a chance on making her something that would break.

Well she didn't appreciate my thoughtfulness, (which is fine, not everyone does) and insisted I redesign the necklace, so I did.  Then I brought it in to her and she bought something else already.  She could have at least told me!

Next time I will have to get all the materials and test them, before i design the necklace and get final design approval.

Today is not my day off

Well it's my day off from work, but i will be making 3 beautiful necklaces that people ordered today.  When i do i will post them on here, bc I havent even posted any pictures to this blog yet at all.

I found another great bead store too.  It is about 5 minutes from my work on commercial headed east and is called Beads. I know, so creative right?   That's in Ft. Lauderdale, for those of you not form South Florida. They are also having a sale.

Also, I am thinking about incorporating the website sometime in the next few weeks.  I've heard a lot of opinions on this, and most people say that it is necessary.

Also, a lot my my clients from Saveology have proven to be valuable leads in developing my business.  It is good to look for opportunity in the people that you talk to on a daily basis. Like I said, look for those connections everywhere.  Most people who are starting a business, work in another field also.  It is a great networking pool, so go for it.

One of my clients has his own website business and he says he has a program that will allow me to update my website frequently with new jewelry that I make, so I wrote him just now, and will let ou know about the program when i hear back.

Men's Necklaces and Coral

I have had a lot of orders lately for men's necklaces, which is great!

I am learning how to make men's jewelry as well, and found that the best site to get affordable men's pendants is www.sourcingmap.com.

It took a couple of tries before I learned which leather looks the most manly! lol.

Also, I have been experimenting with coral teardrop pendants in my jewelry.  I have found that the material looks beautiful, however is very delicate and will break easily.  I am still looking for a durable teardrop pendant and will let you know when I find ne because I am sure than many jewelry makers have probably encountered this issue, and there has to be a durable coral or coral substitute out there.

More Progress Along the Road

What the f**? ok i get this random accidental call today, and it turns out it's this guy I went to college with, what's crzy tho is that he works for Google, and said he would talk a look at my website.

Crazy right? Way xciting too. I mean, i like surprises but at the same time blasts from the past are always unnerving.

Besides that it's been a stellar day. I purchased my template and it is beautiful, and also purchased a few domain names as well.

I have no idea what the flash designer is going to need from me to get this site started, or what I am getting myself into, but we will see.

Other than that I am busy with a few orders and anticipate it getting busier in the future, with proper marketing of course.

Blogspot Problem Fixed, I think

Ok, so I hope you had a happy New Year People.

My new year's was actually the best I've ever had.  That is the way I like to start the year.

I  went to Art Bar, spontaneously got my cover paid by a guy who didn't even harass me and my friend, and got a new year's kiss too .

And it looks like thanks to Miller, I now know that the reason some people couldn't access blogspot is bc they have to have a Gmail account.

So get ready for a mass mailing this Sunday.
